Wood base is a durable material that serves as a wall finish and protective border. Wood base, where possible, should be sustainably harvested. Bamboo, while not technically wood, is commonly included in this category. Bamboo is a rapidly renewable material and can be a replacement for hardwood. However, it is almost exclusively sourced from China, decreasing its sustainability as a material because of long transit distance.
