Web Policies and Important Links

Linking Policy

The pages on SFTool.gov may include hypertext links or pointers to information created and maintained by other public and private organizations. SFTool provides these links and pointers solely for our visitors' information and convenience. When visitors select a link to an outside website, they are leaving the SFTool.gov site and are subject to the privacy and security policies of the owners/sponsors of the outside website.

When SFTool provides such links, it adheres to the following policy.

Evaluation Criteria

Links must be consistent with sound public policy and support the mission of SFTool and GSA.

If SFTool has a formal relationship with organizations or businesses, SFTool.gov may link to their sites.  All participating partners must be treated equally.

Links to commercial sites must avoid even the perception of favoritism or bias relative to other similar commercial sites.  If other sites exist which offer similar products, information, or services there must be a link to all sites or none.

SFTool regularly reviews the quality and usefulness of the sites it links to. However, SFTool cannot be responsible for their content or privacy policies as noted in the Disclaimers of Endorsement below.

Websites that are funded or supported in whole or in part by GSA are considered part of GSA’s overall web presence.  There are direct links to these sites without notification or disclaimer.

Links to Other Government Websites

All links and pointers to sites that are not funded or supported in whole or in part by GSA are clearly identified by the associated agency (“government”) or organization (“nongovernment”).

Because the websites of other government websites must follow the same governmentwide policies that GSA does, links to these sites (including the U.S. military) are made without notification or disclaimer.

Links to Nongovernment Websites

All links and pointers to sites that are not part of the government are identified by the associated organization ("nongovernment links"). Such links are either:

Collected in a list with the label of the organization, or

Described in text by the organization.

This presentation is GSA’s notification to visitors that these links are to nongovernment sites and that the disclaimers below apply.

Disclaimer of Endorsement

The inclusion of links and pointers to websites neither endorses nor guarantees in any way the external organizations, services, advice, or products included in these website links.

SFTool does not control or guarantee the accuracy, relevance, timeliness or completeness of information contained on a linked website.

SFTool does not endorse the organizations sponsoring linked websites, and does not endorse the views they express or the products/services they offer.

SFTool cannot authorize the use of copyrighted materials contained in linked websites. Visitors must request such authorization from the sponsor of the linked website.

SFTool is not responsible for transmissions visitors receive from linked websites.

SFTool does not guarantee that outside websites comply with Section 508 (Accessibility Requirements) of the Rehabilitation Act.

Prohibitions

SFTool will not link to any website that exhibits hate, bias, or discrimination. Furthermore, SFTool reserves the right to deny or remove any link that contains misleading information or unsubstantiated claims, or is determined to be in conflict with its mission or policies.

Privacy and Security

Check the SFTool.gov Privacy Policy for more information about SFTool privacy and security policies.

Sense of Place

Skylight and Sculpture

What makes a workplace special? What fosters a sense of attachment, engagement and identity? These are the kinds of questions that underlie the sense of place. The workplace is increasingly seen as a “brand” that conveys not only a place, but also the mission and values of the organization. The GSA workplace program combines branding and sense of place with sustainable approaches to create special places imbued with meaning and purpose.
