Sound Transmission Coefficient (STC)
Sound Transmission Coefficient (STC) is a single-number rating given to a partition assembly separating two adjoining spaces and derived from a laboratory measurement of found transmission loss. An STC rating describes the sound-insulating properties in the 100-4 kHz frequency range, primarily for assessing speech transmission through a partition.
