Perimeter Units

Description

Known by a number of commons terms such as "induction units," "window units," and "floor units," perimeter HVAC units bring conditioned air out to the window line to assist in mitigating heat gain or loss through windows.  They are often individually controlled to some extent.  Perimeter units also change the aesthetics of a space, as they are visible to the users and take up floor area (unlike overhead distribution).
